School Life

Main School

Reception to Year 6

The Main School caters for children aged from 4 to 11 in small classes of no more than 18. The curriculum is broad-based and concentrates on developing the individual strengths of each child. We work in line with the National Curriculum and prepare children for 11+ and other public external examinations. The school gates open at 8.30am, followed by a daily assembly. Morning lessons are divided by a 30 minute break. At lunch time pupils sit down together for a freshly prepared hot meal. The day finishes at 3.30pm when after-school activities begin.

Good use is made of information technology throughout the school with a suite of “Classmate” tablets available. We also have art, music, drama and PE departments. As an international school, we promote the study of modern foreign languages by offering French from Reception and a residential trip to France for Years 4, 5 and 6. We also teach Latin from Year 3 to underpin our English syllabus and a Spanish taster in Years 5 and 6.
