International Week – w/c 4th February 2019

We’ve had a ‘sportastic’ International Week!

The children have all thoroughly enjoyed learning about different countries and sporting traditions.

We welcomed back Mrs. McKenna as our judge for our Public Speaking competition, headed up by the winning Dormer team, and the kitchen staff created delicious lunches with a different international theme each day. The children produced some gorgeous artwork which is now on display around the school and everyone took part in running ‘1K a day’ which was “exhausting but fun to do”!

One of the highlights of the week was our visit from Andrada, a Romanian gymnast. Her tales of life in post-communist Romania and her regime in the Institute for Gymnastics from the age of 6 was inspiring and eye opening. She spoke passionately about putting the work in to follow our dreams and if one has a gift, hard graft can make dreams come true. It was captivating. She now runs Peacock Gymnastics at the Fire College.

Dancing Sally worked with each year group to learn some fantastic international dances, culminating in a presentation enjoyed by staff, family and friends as a grand finale to the week!
